Ali Hassan is a graduate of King Abdulaziz University Faculty of Dentistry where he obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King Abdulaziz University Faculty of Dentistry (KAU-FD). He gradauted from KAU-FD in 1993 with Rank no.1 and the first degree of honor. He then joined the same school as a demonstrator in the division of Orthodontics. He obtained a certificate in Orthodontics and a PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. He joined the faculty at KAU-FD as Assistant Professor in 2002. Then he was promoted to full professor in 2010.
He is heavily involved in teaching the undergraduate students as well as the residents of both the Saudi Board in Orthodontics (SBO) and Master of Orthodontics. He was the Director of the Local Supervising Committee of the SBO in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. He was also the Supervisor of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Dentistry.
Recently, Prof. Hassan has earned a Master Degree in Medical Education from the University of Maastricht (2009-April).
In 2011, he was selected as the director for the Research Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry and as the Vice-president of the Research Ethics Committee (REC).
Currently, he is the Chairman of the SBO in Saudi Arabia and the Chairman of the Saudi Orthodontic Society
